In honor of the hustlers

If anyone has ever run their own business…I strongly encourage reading 2 books. “Let My People Go Surfing” by Yvon Chouinard ( founder of Patagonia). And Jay-z’s “Decoded” which I just finished reading and spawned this post. Both books really get down to the fact to make a business out of what you love you gotta try hard…fucking hard. One of the more poignant parts of Jay-z’s book is where he reminisces about his friendship with The Notorious B.I.G. and his sad needlessly violent departure from this world. I talk about this a lot…but at face value you wouldnt believe it…but Chouinard and Jay-z actaully have a commonality…they set about doing business in their own way. and never gave up, and they hustled everyday to make it happen. So if you’re responsible for your own livelihood and run your own show… you’re by default a hustler. Hustlers wake up everyday thinking “What will this day bring?” and ” How do I make it through?” and “What can I get out of it ?”( and “get” doesnt always mean money, it can equally be satisfying to “get” something that just makes your soul feel good). So in honor of another hustler, here is some work I did to push into a local radio hosted event honoring the remembering the fallen B.I.G.
